Mumbai, 23 June 2023: Following an impressive display of skills at the second round of the 2023 Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC), the IDEMITSU Honda Racing India team, representing Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI), is poised to deliver a trailblazing performance at the Sportsland SUGO International Circuit in Japan for the upcoming Round 3 this weekend.
As the season reaches its midpoint, Honda Racing India has accumulated a total of 11 points thus far in the 2023 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC). The team is determined to raise the stakes higher in the Asia Production 250cc (AP250cc) category.
Speaking about the upcoming round, Mr. Yogesh Mathur, Director Sales & Marketing at Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, expressed confidence in the IDEMITSU Honda Racing India team’s ability to improve their position in this round. While the Sportsland SUGO International Circuit is unfamiliar territory for the riders, the team’s unwavering efforts are expected to yield favorable results. Furthermore, Honda remains committed to supporting its riders as they strive for excellence and aim to make a mark in this prestigious championship. Leading the charge in the Asia Production (AP250) class with an exhilarating display of racing prowess is Kavin Samaar Quintal, the sole Indian rider representing the team. Quintal demonstrated consistent performance in the AP250cc category during Round 2 of the 2023 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC). Although his race in Race 2 was marred by an unfortunate technical issue in lap 2, leading to his retirement, Quintal managed to accumulate 2 points at the Sepang International Circuit, securing a position within the top 15 in the overall championship standings.
Looking ahead to Round 3, Quintal expressed immense excitement for the Asia Road Racing Championship. With competition intensifying and the stakes higher than ever, he is fully prepared to embrace the challenge head-on at the iconic Sportsland SUGO International Circuit. Unfortunately, Mohsin Paramban will miss all the action in this round in Japan due to an injury sustained during the Domestic Honda India Talent Cup. The team wishes him a speedy recovery.
About the 2023 FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC):
The 26th edition of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship is Asia’s most competitive motorcycle road racing championship, held since 1996. The 2023 season consists of six rounds. Following the official test and season opener at the Chang International Circuit in Thailand on 24 March 2023, and the second round at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia, the third round of the championship is set to take place this weekend at the Sportsland SUGO International Circuit in Japan. Rounds 4, 5, and 6 will be held in August, October, and December in Indonesia, China, and Thailand, respectively.
